Ralph Lauren Home collection bedding in the Homevoyeurs webshop

Cape Lodge Plantation Chair and Noble Estate Chaise from Ralph Lauren Home Collection

OK, I know, it’s like saying you vote Republican.. but I LOVE the Ralph Lauren Home collection! It makes me want to be rich. Very very rich as the products come with a hefty price tag, but boy oh boy, would my life be complete!

Taking inspiration from a very white lifestyle, with even a hint to times when slavery was still ‘de rigeur’, Mr Lauren sure knows how to set a mood. Items with names like Plantation Chair, Noble Estate Chaise and La Boheme Desk one immediately knows what he means. One feels like a writer just looking at the black leather club chair aptly named  Writer’s Chair.

Homevoyeurs is lucky enough to be able to offer a few items of the Ralph Lauren Home Collection bedding line in the Homevoyeurs webshop! Wonderful bedding for a much friendlier price! For instance this 450 thread count cotton Palm Harbor duvet cover for $495.00. But also shams, pillow covers, beds in a bag and spreads from Ralph Lauren or other quintessential American brands. Starting as low as $50!

Inn on the lake B&B in Broek in Waterland

“An old vicarage, just 11 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station, with 5 star amenities. A typical Dutch setting with monumental buildings set around a small lake. 400 years ago this was the first stop for the ships carrying their cargo of tobacco, wines, sugars and many other products for trading with the Dutch. This is perhaps one of the most authentic places around Amsterdam”.

Thus reads the website of Inn on the Lake, a Bed and Breakfast in the picturesque town of Broek in Waterland.

And the website is right!

Left the Taupe Room, right the Black & White Room (suite)

We were lucky enough to experience a night there when friends of ours got married in Broek in Waterland last year. The decor is absolutely stunning as is the location, right on the lake with the church as a dramatic back drop on landside. In the morning we were served breakfast on the outside terrace overlooking the lake, and just did not want to leave.

Rates, starting at Euro 130, are very reasonable.

Blue Room

The lady running the Inn on the Lake is American.  This is most noticable  in the way the beds are made, as the picture above shows.  Americans have a flair for making beds look and feel extremely comfortable and chic. A recent post detailed my quest for the ultimate bedskirt, as seen on many beds while traveling through California last year.

The Homevoyeurs webshop sells ‘Beds in a bag’ from the United States. These bags contain everything you need to turn your bed into a lush and luxurious hotel bed; comforters, shams, pillow cases, spreads and bed skirts, the works!

Check out this set from Victorian Collections for instance.
