Magnificent home in Laren, the Netherlands, for sale

Like Nate Berkus, Ineke, aka the Huizenfee, is a regular here on Homevoyeurs. I wrote about her work for the Wisseloord Studio’s not too long ago, and about the house she restyled in Laren. That sold last year, so the new owners will be calling it home soon. Her own home is now for sale too. It’s in the picturesque village of Laren in ‘het Gooi’. The Netherlands’ answer to Connecticut.  She bought the house a few years back and revamped it to its current glory.

The kitchen is great! It’s big enough for a small breakfast table but also has an adjacent smaller dining room

Green Goblin’s Penthouse from Spiderman for sale

I haven’t seen the movie, but sure like this place! The penthouse in NYC’s Windsor Tower served as the home for Willem Dafoe in his role as the Green Goblin in the Spiderman movies. It just hit the market this week with a moderate $1.595 million price tag. It sounds like a lot, but keep in mind this is NYC and a pretty decent location to boot. The ceilings are gorgeous too at 18-feet and floor-to-ceiling dramatic windows. The house further features a fire-place, wooden floors and a private terrace. And off course the legitimate right to brag. “Guess where I live…”

I love the mezzanine!

I quite like the decor too with the bright fuchsia pink pillows on those Biedermeier-esque chairs. I once brought home pillow covers in the same hue but my significant other was less thrilled with them then I was. Maybe after seeing this he’ll agree to give them another chance. They match really well with antiques!

Great lay-out too. Stairs to the roof terrace conveniently located by the kitchen. I’d prefer one extra bedroom through. But hey, can’t have it all!

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick’s house on the market

Sarah Jessica Parker and her lovely husband Matthew Broderick (or Ferris for friends) have done quite the house flip. They put down $18.995 million for a Greenwich Village Redstone townhouse and now put it back on the market for $24.995 million. That is quite the increase and would make for a lovely profit to enhance their already comfortable means…. There’s some debate as to what exactly they did with the place as even the art in the pictures is the same from an original listing back in 2009, but it sure looks nice enough to me!

The floor plans show that there are 7 bedrooms, including one in the garden room right by the kitchen. Great for a maid or au-pair! 5 full, and 3 half baths make for enough to not to worry about standing in line in the morning. The kitchen looks great. But the two back bedrooms on the third floor look odd to say the least. The entire fourth floor is reserved for the master bed, bath and his-n-hers walk in wardrobes.

Have a yabbadabbadoo time in this house in Malibu!

Had to post this. It’s been done before for sure, or at least contemplated, and I still think the architects of Maison Bulles in Théoule-sur-Mer France were inspired by the Flinstones, or possibly the Jetsons. But never have I seen a house so in keep with the theme as this one. It’s in Malibu, off course it is. TV host Dick Clark  decided to put it on the market shortly before his death in April this year. My guess is that the asking price of ‘only’ $3,500,000 is because it is not everybody’s taste. Cause if it is, and you’re rich, than the house with its magical ocean views is yours for a price well under what the neighbours paid!
